STUCO , or Student Council, is the student body government that is in charge of taking student ideas, comments, and concerns and presenting to administration. The student council is also in charge of planning different student-led activities, in order to get students involved throughout our school. One of the bigger events we plan is Miss School Spirit. To other schools, this may be called “Winter Homecoming” or “Basketball Homecoming.” This takes a lot of planning, time to set up, decorate and choreograph. Another big event we put on is Mr. Congeniality. STUCO does this on the day before Christmas break to get everyone relaxed after finals and in a good mood for the holidays. A new event STUCO put on this year was “Deck the Halls.” This was an activity to get students involved by decorating each class hall for Christmas. In the spring, we look forward to our two spring events, powderpuff football, and hulk volleyball. Some people think that Student Council is only in charge of putting on dances, however, we are involved in so much more than that and we are always trying to think of new ideas to make student life better. The officers for STUCO this school year are President; Cody Frink, Vice President; Jordan Toothaker, and Secretary; Caitlynn Janousek.
